Our History

Woodco U Limited was established in 2000 by three Founders; Mr Kalanda John Christopher Muwembe, Mr Yiga Joseph and Mr Paddy Kityo. Mr Kalanda is the Vision bearer who sold it to the other former two Co-Directors who also embraced it and resolved to have the Company incorporated. Mr Kalanda having been in Timber and construction fields for some good time saw all the Biodegradation and climatic conditions that can really shorten life for Wood that we use for various purposes yet getting it requires a high price. He therefore made a research on how wood can be preserved to prolong its service life and also save the environment in turn. In their passion to find a solution to this problem they secured a Wood Treatment plant financed by DFCU Bank.

Presently the former two directors’ shares and interest have been bought by the family of Mr. and Mrs. Kalanda.
